Retirement Celebration for Dennis Hupchick

The Division of Global History & Languages cordially invites the Wilkes community to a retirement reception in honor of Dr. Dennis P. Hupchick, professor of history. The reception will be held Friday, May 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Darte Center. Light refreshments will be served.

Dr. Hupchick received his BA, MA, and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. He joined Wilkes University in 1990 and directed the East European and Russian Studies Program here from 1991 to 2002, when the program was discontinued.

An internationally recognized expert on Eastern European history, Dr. Hupchick served as president of the Bulgarian Studies Association from 1992 to 1995.  He is the author of seven books, editor of five books of essays and has contributed dozens of articles to peer-reviewed journals.
