Zebra Communications Osterhout Free Library Benefit
On Sunday, April 26, 2015, Zebra Communications will host “Sugar Bookie”, consisting of a dessert competition, basket raffle and brand new book sale, at the North Branch of the Osterhout Free Library. The event, which will take place at 28 Oliver Street in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, will be held between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. and is open to the public. Admission to the event will be $5, which includes the chance to taste and judge the desserts. All proceeds raised will go towards benefitting the Osterhout Free Library’s North Branch, a member of the Luzerne County Public Library System.
The dessert competition will feature desserts prepared by Premo’s Bakery, Bakery Delite and Cakes by Destiny, as well as a number of other entries by members of the community and bakeries alike. The basket raffle will feature more than $600 worth of prizes from local businesses including Butler Eyecare, Baby Vogue, Grotto’s Pizza, Movies 14 and a number of other organizations throughout the Wyoming Valley. A brand new book sale boasts hundreds of brand new books for sale ranging throughout all genres and interests. The books will be cut in cost to only $3 per book, or 2 books for $5. All proceeds raised will go towards benefitting the Osterhout Free Library’s North Branch, a member of the Luzerne County Public Library System. The library, set in a remodeled church, is known for their dedication to providing programs and resources necessary for children in the area to thrive in and out of the classroom.
