Please Encourage Students to Share Their Experience!
This April, Wilkes undergraduate and pharmacy students will be participating in a student satisfaction survey called the Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI). It is a national survey, which Wilkes has used since 1995 to track progress internally, and against other institutions. The SSI provides an opportunity for students to provide feedback about their experience – including what they think is important, and how satisfied they are with it. The survey items provide a barometer of student satisfaction with academic experiences, interactions with faculty and staff, campus services and facilities. Our continued participation in the SSI will provide feedback useful for planning, as we carry out initiatives for the “Gateway to the Future” Strategic Plan. The theme related to retention (Theme 3) may be the most obvious connection. Since the survey will be administered online for the first time this year, we are relying on assistance from the campus community (enhancing awareness, encouraging participation), incentives (a drawing for 50 $20 Amazon.com gift cards), and Marketing Communications (posters, table tents, etc. around campus).
Please encourage undergraduate and pharmacy students to participate!
Participation runs for most of the month of April (8th – 29th). Previous survey results have helped the university identify the need for a new student center and improvements to food services and campus security. Most recently, lighting was improved in the UCoM Parkade.
Please contact Brian Bogert (firstname.lastname@example.org) in the Office of Information, Analysis & Planning with questions about the survey.
