Wilkes University To Host Master Classes In Contemporary Dance
The Division of Performing Arts at Wilkes University is pleased to announce that it will host a Master Classes in Contemporary Dance presented by Eric Campros. Due to expected demand, the class will be offered twice: on Sunday, November 23rd, 10am-noon, and on Sunday, December 7, 10am-noon. The class will be held in the Darte Center on the Wilkes campus. The class is open to the community for a fee of $15.00 per participant. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling Maryellen Sloat at 570-408-4420.
Master teacher/choreographer Eric Campros of New York City has appeared on numerous television series and specials including the MTV Movie Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards, the Grammys, the BET Awards, and the Blockbuster Awards. He has danced with several artists including Aaliyah, The Backstreet Boys, Lil’ Kim, Mikaela, and Usher. He also appeared in the smash hit musical Grease on Broadway. Eric appeared in the hit Bollywood movie musical Jaaneman, and has danced in several commercials and industrials for companies including Propel Water, Stouffers, Toyota, Nissan, Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Old Navy, Target, Nike, and Wrangler Jeans. He currently choreographs shows and industrials for Carnival Entertainment, and teaches for various conventions throughout the US and Canada. Eric’s belief that dance and movement can be one’s voice led him to China and India in the summer of 2012 and the winters of 2013 and 2014. He was honored to work with students at the prestigious Hebei Art Institute in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China, as well as Shandong Art College in Shandong. Eric is the Artistic Director of Youth Programming for the Brooklyn Dance Festival, teaches at Broadway Dance Center in NYC, and is a proud member of several artists unions.
