Pharmacy Students Assist with Affordable Care Act Sign-Ups
This past Saturday, January 21st, students and faculty from the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, as well as navigators from the Advocacy Alliance, hosted an Affordable Care Act Enrollment Event on campus. Individuals and families from the community attended the event, and the volunteers answered their questions and helped enroll them in an appropriate and affordable health insurance plan according to their eligibility. During the event, they were able to help 15-20 patients get healthcare coverage or provide them with resources to obtain affordable coverage.
The volunteers were featured on Ryan Leckey's live segment last week to help advertise the event. This past weekend, WNEP included a brief segment about the event, and Times Leader included an article in Sunday's paper. Please see the links below to view the news segments and article.
If you or anyone you know still needs to enroll in a health insurance plan through the Affordable Care Act, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org for information. The open enrollment deadline is quickly approaching on 1/31/17.
