Jefferson Bohan (PharmD, 2014) recipient of an ASHP Best Practice Award
Dr. Jefferson Bohan, as part of a team from the Boise Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Idaho, will receive a 2016 ASHP Best Practices Award at the 2016 Midyear Clinical Meeting of the American Society of Health System Pharmacy Meeting in Las Vegas. Dr. Bohan graduated from Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy in 2014. Subsequently, he pursued a Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at MaineGeneral Medical Center, and he is currently in his second of two years as the Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Research Fellow at the Boise Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. One of the 2016 ASHP Best Practice Awards was awarded to the Boise VA Medical Center for their work in decreasing outpatient antimicrobial prescriptions related to the project titled Antimicrobial Prescribing Improvement in Patient with Acute Respiratory Infections through Pharmacist Intervention in the Ambulatory Care Setting. Jefferson Bohan played a key role in conjunction with other colleagues in this project from conception to development to implementation and evaluation. Specifically, he was integral in preparing individualized audit and feedback reports of antimicrobial use, data analysis, and manuscript generation for nomination.
