Operation: Tails for Troops

Wilkes University Veterans Council is partnering with Marywood University to raise money for Dog T.A.G.S. On April 16th from 12-3, McDade Park in Scranton will be hosting this event. Each year Marywood organizes this, but Wilkes decided to pitch in once we heard about the idea! Dog T.A.G.S is a non-profit organization that raises money to pair veterans diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Traumatic Brain Injury with rescued shelter or adopted dogs and put them through service dog training. Our goal is $10,000! The event will feature a K-9 Talent and Dog Pageant that anyone can enter! There will also be local shelter pups up for adoption, food and venders, basket raffles, 50/50 raffles, music by Rock 107's Prospector, and much more! Wilkes will be hosting a hot dog stand and Hot Dog Eating Contest! I hope you can join us that day to support our veterans! If you have any questions or would like to donate to our cause, please contact Kellie Palko at kellie.palko@wilkes.edu.
