Dr. Kim Ference / Wilkes Pharmacy receive recognition at Volunteers in Medicine Annual Event

Volunteers in Medicine held their Annual Meeting and Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday, February 11th at the Westmoreland Club.   The Luncheon featured a volunteer video, comments from a patient, and presentation by key stakeholders of VIM. Volunteers and supporters were awarded plaques in “outstanding” categories based on volunteer hours or amount of philanthropic contributions.  The pharmacy program at  Wilkes University was recognized for its support of VIM over the years.  In particular, Dr. Kim Ference, who maintains a clinical practice at VIM, was recognized by the VIM.   In addition to the work of Dr. Fernece, Dr. Susan Sordoni, Founder of VIM, thanked Dana Manning, PharmD, RD and all the pharmacy students for their dedication.  Edward Foote, Chair of Pharmacy Practice, attended the luncheon.  “I am so proud of Dr.  Ference and our students.   The best part of the event was when the patient representative who was comments made a special callout to Kim (aka Maria) for how she has made such a difference in the lives of so many patients.  It made my day!”.
