Wilkes University Entrepreneurial Experience Competition for High School Students, Nov. 30
Tomorrow’s entrepreneurs will have a chance to pitch their best business ideas as 60 high school students compete in the Wilkes University Entrepreneurial Experience on Nov. 30. The students are competing – not for business capital – but for scholarships to attend Wilkes. The competition will be held in the ballroom of the Henry Student Center, 84 W. South St., from 9 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Each student on the winning team will be awarded scholarships of $1,000 per year, for four years at Wilkes University.
Teams of students from Pittston Area High School and North Pocono High School will present business plans to a panel of judges. Acting as would-be investors, the judges will determine which business idea is deserving of their backing. This year, each school is contributing three teams.
Wilkes University undergraduate business students from the ENACTUS (Entrepreneurship Action Us) Club have visited each of the high schools to help the students prepare for the competition.
