The Wilkes University Theatre Presents Little Shop of Horrors Nov. 11-20

little shop of horrors promo photoWilkes University Theatre presents the musical Little Shop of Horrors. The musical will be performed at Wilkes’ Dorothy Dickson Center for the Performing Arts on Novemeber 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. Also on November 13 and 20 at 2 p.m.

 
Directed by Wilkes University Theatre ‘s Teresa Fallon, theater director, with musical direction from Ken McGraw, music theater director, this deviously delicious sci-fi smash, Little Shop of Horrors, is known for devouring hearts. It tells the story of floral assistant, Seymour Krelborn, who stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “the Audrey II.” His foul-mouthed, R&B-singing plant promises Seymour unending fame and fortune on one condition—Seymour must keep feeding it blood.
 
Little Shop of Horrors, the musical based on the 1960 film of the same name, is born from the same creative team responsible for Disney’s The Little Mermaid,Beauty and The Beast, and Aladdin. The book and lyrics were written by Howard Ashman and the music was written by Alan Menken.
