Wilkes University to Host Veterans Career and Education Boot Camp on May 11

Wilkes University will host the Veterans Career and Education Boot Camp on Monday, May 11 in the Henry Student Center, located at 84 W. South Street, Wilkes-Barre. The event will begin with a registration and networking session at 8 a.m. Light refreshments will be served. All current and former military personnel are invited to attend.
 

The event will include a panel discussion, an information session and a career and education fair. Times of the events are as follows: 

  • Navigating Services Available for Veterans panel, 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
  • Beginning Your Career after the Military information session, 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Career and Education Fair, 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon

In addition to Wilkes University, area universities and colleges attending the event are Keystone College, King’s College, Marywood University, Misericordia University and Penn State Wilkes-Barre. 

Among the 19 businesses and services that will be in attendance are Cigna, Civilian Personnel Advisory Center, Department of Corrections, Drug Enforcement Administration, Geisinger, Health Care for Homeless Veterans, PA Career Link, Pennsylvania State Police, VA Medical Center and the Wilkes-Barre Chamber.
