Free Lecture Explores Obama-Nixon Comparison at Wilkes University on April 16

At first glance, Barack Obama may not appear to have much in common with Richard Nixon, but the two presidents faced many similar issues. Andrew J. Polsky, Professor of Political Science and Acting Ruth and Harold Newman Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Hunter College, City University of New York, will explore the connections during a lecture at Wilkes University on Thursday, April 16.

Entitled “Inheriting a Bad War:  Richard Nixon and Barack Obama,” the lecture examines and compares both the Nixon and Obama administrations, and includes observations about contemporary issues surrounding Syria, Iraq and the extremist rebel group ISIS. It is being presented by Wilkes’ chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. The lecture will take place in Breiseth Hall, Room 106, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The event is free and open to the public
