College Misericordia Tuition Benefits
Tuition benefits at College Misericordia are extended to all full-time active Wilkes University staff members and their spouse and dependents and apply to undergraduate tuition only. Full tuition benefits apply for Fall/Spring and Summer semesters. Benfits apply to the Co-op Program, but no benefits are extended to students registered in non-credit courses.
College Misericordia's full-time tuition is 12 to 17 credits per semester. Students registered for 18 or more credits will be charged a per credit rate for each credit over 17.
Tuition benefits do not apply to graduate tuition/professional studies. The Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Pathology programs are also excluded from the program.
Wilkes University employees and their spouse and dependents are eligible for this program after the employee has completed one year of continuous full-time employment from their current hire date. Employees and their spouse and dependents must meet admission requirements by filing applications and related documents with the Director of Admissions well in advance of the opening of the semester.
Eligible participants must apply for all applicable financial aid through the Financial Aid Office of the institution at which they are matriculants. Eligible participants must apply for tuition benefits through the Wilkes University Human Resources Development Office. The tuition grant is limited to tuition minus eligibility for any federal, state, or private grants and scholarships available to the student. Individuals applying for this program must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to have their eligibility for federal Pell Grant and the PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency) State Grant determined. Failure to comply with this rule will result in an adjustment of the Tuition Grant equal to the federal and state aid which would have been received if the proper forms were filed. The deadline for application for the PHEAA State Grant is May 1st. Federal, state and private grants and scholarships will be applied toward tuition first with the Tuition Grant being adjusted appropriately. The student is responsible for payment of fees, including room and board, if applicable. Students who qualify for this Tuition Grant will not be eligible to receive any other institutional grants or scholarships.
Upon termination of employment (voluntary or involuntary) during a semester, an individual is responsible to pay the remaining balance of the tuition cost. This cost is calculated on a pro-rated basis using the termination date and the number of weeks in the semester.
For additional information on Tuition Benefits see Policies #381(Wilkes University) and #382 (King's College).
