Employment Reference Checks
To ensure that individuals who join Wilkes University are well qualified and have a strong potential to be productive and successful, it is the intent of Wilkes University to check the employment references of all candidates before hiring.
The Human Resources Development Office will respond in writing only to those reference check inquiries about its employees that are submitted in writing. Responses to such inquiries will confirm only dates of employment, wage rates, and position(s) held. No employment data will be released without a written authorization and release signed by the individual who is the subject of the inquiry.
Managers should refer all employment inquiries to the Human Resources Development Office for a response, unless they have agreed to serve as a personal reference.
