The Learning Garden - Summer 2011

Return to Wilkes Magazine - Summer 2011

The Learning Garden was created by Patty Gilmour, wife of University President Tim Gilmour. She used green gardening practices and plants indigenous to northeast Pennsylvania to create a garden that blooms from late spring to fall. Located next to Fenner Hall on South Franklin Street, just a few steps from the Farley Library, the garden is green oasis on the Wilkes campus.

Visit the garden the next time you are on campus. Coming to Wyoming Valley River Fest on the River Common from June 17-19? The garden will be featured on a special tour at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 18 as part of the annual festival.

Can’t get to campus? Check back in July for a video tour of the garden in bloom.
