Business Campaign

A key component in the success of The Wilkes Fund is the Business Campaign.

Under the leadership of the Director of Individual Giving, the business volunteers reach out to businesses for support. Last year the business volunteers raised approximately $70,000 in pledges and gifts  for the "Parade to Success" campaign.

The Business Campaign kicks-off in February each year. The 40-50 community volunteers make personal, telephone, or direct-mail contact with approximately 400 business organizations. The role of the volunteers is to inform the business community about Wilkes University, its progress, its plans, and to invite participation in the development of these plans through partnerships and financial investment.

Economic Impact
The Business Campaign is really a partnership with the community. Wilkes University has a very strong economic impact on the local community. Wilkes is a major employer in the Wyoming Valley with approximately 400 full-time employees. These employees provide a strong part of the economic base that directly supports the companies, institutions, and non-profit agencies in the region.
