Dr. Pei Zhang, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, received her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 2005 from the South China Normal University. After graduation, she started to teach Mathematics in a private middle school in Guangzhou, China. She earned her Master’s degree in 2008 and a Ph. D. in Applied Mathematics in 2011 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. During her study in graduate school, she instructed classes as a Teaching Assistant for five years and received the 2010-2011 Rhodes Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. Before joining the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Wilkes University, Dr. Zhang was an Instructor of Mathematics at the Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Her recent research interests are in the area of Mathematical Biology. As an Assistant Professor of Mathematics, she will teach Calculus and Modeling for the Biological and Health Sciences, and Numerical Analysis in the coming academic year.
