Entering 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade? Join us for Wilkes University Environmental Science Summer Day Camp!
Wilkes University environmental scientists and engineers will guide high school students in fun and educational outdoor experiences while encouraging stewardship of natural resources.
Students will collect and analyze water and air samples at Frances Slocum State Park, the Back Mountain Trail and Wilkes-Barre River Common. Then they will compare the data and interpret the impact of land use, development and conservation on air and water quality.
As they conduct scientific research, students will also gain experience in effective team, relationship and communication skills. They will leave camp ready to act as environmental stewards in their own schools and communities. Students will begin and end each day at Wilkes University's Cohen Science Center.
