Professional conferences offer Wilkes pharmacy students opportunities for networking and expanding knowledge.
More than 30 Wilkes Pharmacy students and faculty attended The American Society of Health Systems Pharmacy’s 50th Midyear Clinical Meeting in New Orleans in December 2015.
The meeting is the largest gathering of pharmacists and the longest running clinical meeting in the world. It was attended by more than 20,000 pharmacy professionals from about 100 countries and provided pharmacy practitioners and students a venue for updating knowledge, networking, and enhancing skills. Wilkes students attended meetings, presented posters, and two competed in a national skills competition. Most fourth-year pharmacy students were beginning the arduous process of residency and fellowship searches at the meeting. The meeting is one of several attended by students and faculty in the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy annually.
